This month, Startup Virginia is thrilled to welcome Kathleen King, the woman behind Tate's Bake Shop. Founded in 2000 when she was 40 years old, Tate's was sold last June to the maker of Oreo and Chips Ahoy, for $500 million. But Kathleen's business journey wasn't easy, and she credits the brand's success to losing the first bakeshop she founded. Kathleen will share how early epic failures drove her to epic success — you won't want to miss it.

This month's conversation is facilitated by Richard Coughlan, Associate Professor of Management at the University of Richmond's Robins School of Business, and creator/host of “C-Suite Conversations,” a series of unscripted, on-stage interviews conducted live in front of audiences drawn from the business and campus communities.

Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided.
