Do you love to draw? Are you interested in tapping into the pure joy of drawing you experienced as a kid? Or do you have slight anxieties about the thought of drawing? Good news! Drawing Night has you covered. This event is designed by Broad Emily Meredith Lewis for all levels, from full-time artists to the person who doodles on post-it notes during conference calls. Supplies will be provided, along with some summer-themed prompts (for those who need some drawing inspiration), but if you are particular about your tools or have your own works in progress, feel free to bring them. The more art the merrier. 

This Drawing Night is a tiny bit more structured than last round but you'll still get to color outside the lines if you want ;) Supplies and prompts will be provided and we encourage attendees to arrive for the start of the session at 5PM and hang until close at 7PM if you are able. Seltzer and wine will be provided - this event is free for Broads and $5 for guests.

Join Broad Jodi Dubyoski for a casual and cozy night of decompression. For those who don't know the first thing about fiber arts, you'll learn to cast on, knit, purl, knit in the round, and cast off as you start your own infinity scarf.

$30 covers your materials costs (via Venmo/Paypal) and you'll go home with your own needles and enough yarn to finish the project. This is perfect for beginner knitters to learn the basics, and we'll follow it up with a Stitch and Bitch the next month where you can come with any remaining questions and show your progress!

Join The Broad and our Coven leaders, Michelle Mercurio and Cora Kessler, for a morning of intuition exercises and tarot exploration. Whether you've never picked up cards before or are a divine tarot reader - this is the workshop for you to hone your intuition and connect with your cards mindfully and magically. Beginner basics will be highlighted, but experienced woo-folk will benefit from the opportunity to deepen their practice.

Expect time for intention setting and reflection, exercises to expand your intuition and plenty of time to practice reading for yourself and others.

This 3-hour class is limited to 16 badass brujas and is $30 for Broads (use code) and $60 for guests.

The Broad Walk w. Race Capitol

What are Richmond's true monuments? Moving on foot from Jackson Ward to Shockoe Bottom, we will talk about the policy decisions behind the monumental infrastructure we see along the way. After a ride back on the GRTC Pulse, we will end back in the Arts District for debriefing and reflection.

This walking tour is curated and led by Chelsea Higgs Wise of Race Capitol, community facilitator and activist-in-residence at The Broad.

Wear comfortable shoes, the walk is mostly flat with some downhill sections. A light drizzle will not get in our way but extreme weather will move us to our backup rain date of Saturday, October 19th.

This walking tour is open to the public and costs $10 for Broads and $20 for non-members. Proceeds will benefit Marijuana Justice Virginia.

Zapier is an "If this then that" tool that lets you link the various tools you already use in order to streamline recurring tasks. Asana is a task management software that is free to use and helps us manage our workload. Ali will share some of her favorite uses of these two powerhouse apps that make life a little easier whether you run your own business, are managing your tasks for your job, or even want to make personal life management easier.

Making space for your closet! Grab that dress you've never worn or shoes too small and swap it out with another to support recycling clothing in a sustainable fashion! There is room for FIFTEEN BROADS so claim your spot with Caroline.

  • Just bring yourself and your clothing (washed and clean!!!!) in bags, not hangers!

  • Maximum of 20 items per broad. (Includes clothing, shoes, & accessories)

  • We will be collecting items all throughout Monday 09/30 in the Boardroom if you want to drop them off earlier that day and come back for them to set up later. Each Broad will have a section at a table to display items.

  • Swapping begins at 6 pm till 7:15 pm in boardroom.

Gender Beyond The Binary: A Conversation

Join The Broad for an interactive discussion led by Ris Rodina (student of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies and Psychology at VCU) that will give you insight into the experiences of nonbinary folx, and opportunities to develop deeper allyship.

Attendees can expect to come away with a better understanding of nonbinary identities, pronoun use, and underlying ways we can continually humanize one another.

There will be ample opportunity to walk through concrete examples that demonstrate curiosities and questions we wouldn’t ordinarily ask! All are welcome, no question is off limits.

Tix are free for Broads and $15 for guests with proceeds benefitting S.O.N.G. (Southerners on New Ground) Seltzers and coffee will be provided.

Parking at The Broad is available on the street or in paid lots - there is a loading zone immediately outside the building that may be used for drop off and pick up.
